The Story

Avery's perfectly planned summer is ruined. She didn't get into her school's top show choir. Her parents just separated. And her boyfriend, Hunter, has started dating someone else. When Avery's mom gets hired to be the nurse for a summer boy band tour, Avery reluctantly decides to go along as an unpaid intern.

Criss-crossing the country with True Meaning is as unglamorous as Avery expected-until she meets the band's guitarist, Griffin. As he introduces her to the other band members and the realities of life on the road, Griffin helps Avery find her true voice. But boy band summers don't last forever. When home comes knocking, Avery must decide whether to go back to Hunter and show choir or stay with True Meaning and the boy who sees her like no one else has.

About the Author
Wealer, Sara: - I grew up in Manhattan, Kansas (the "Little Apple"), where I sang in all the choirs and wrote for the high school newspaper. I majored in voice performance at the University of Kansas before deciding I had no business trying to make a career as an opera singer. Then I transferred to journalism school, where no one cares if you can hit a high C or convincingly play a Valkyrie, and became a reporter covering everything from house fires to Hollywood premieres. These days, I write event scripts and marketing copy while the sun is out. By night, I write books for young adults. I live in Cincinnati with my husband, two daughters, two dogs and four cats, and I still sing sometimes when my schedule allows. When I'm not writing or running around doing Mom Things, you'll find me at the ballet, or obsessively watching ballet online.
