About the Author
José Carlos Román García was born in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. After graduating with a degree in Teaching and later in Education, he has spent more than 20 years dedicating himself body and soul to his great passion: being a preschool teacher. While pursuing this professional career, he gradually delved into the wonderful world of children's literature. A tireless reader of children's books and constantly on the lookout for meaningful titles to bring to the classroom and delight the little ones, he gradually developed an interest in writing stories for children.
Mónica Carretero was born in Madrid, but now lives happily in Segovia, where she draws colorful illustrations and writes children's books. She says her work makes her feel alive. This passion is well represented in her cheerful drawings and original, lively characters. She has illustrated dozens of books, games, and posters for Spain, England, France, Korea, Australia, and the United States. Since 2011, her work has been recognized on numerous occasions, such as at the London Book Fair, the Latino Book Awards in the United States, and BookExpo America.
